While my career gently floats down the Covid river into the oblivion, I thought I would share this with… let’s face it probably no one.
I found myself with an hour to lose in Oxford this August and looked through the gate into the Oxford Botanic gardens. I had my cameras so decided to go in and take a few pictures. I had forgotten just how much fun it is to have no agenda, no brief, no end use. Just taking pictures for myself.
The above flowers (no idea of their names) grabbed my attention. They were also very popular with the bees. I loved the repetitive shapes and highlights they created. The results were quite abstract but made me smile. And managed to in some way to reconnect me with why I started taking photographs all those years ago. Just a shame no one will get to see the results.
