Recent food photographs

The above are a recent selection of my food photography. I have grouped them into colours to give a feel of the seasons. I find it very powerful to put a mosaic of  pictures together. They obviously have to be of a similar feel and tone. But the overall effect can be quite stunning.

It is a good way of trying to sell a book or feature as you can get an immediate feel of the shoot and food. If you are taking your work around art directors this often works as it shows you are not a one shot wonder. These pictures are not all from the same shoots. So that demonstrates that there is a strong consistancy in my style of photography.

This month alone I have had 4 books published with varying subjects from how to make cheese to microwave meals in a mug. I think the secret to being a good food photographer is the ability to adapt to the brief. To understand the type of food being portrayed and to keep it as simple as possible.
