Co-op Magazine
This months issue; out now, has three of the Uk farmers, highlighting our Summer harvest; Cherries, Strawberries and Tomatoes. If you were just to judge their work on pure investment in infrastructure alone they would amaze most people. From straw burning eco boilers, to using the co2 produced to increase growth and cut down enviromental impact. Miles of glass or poly tunnels, millions of pounds invested just to extend the season and avoid expensive imports helping to keep the carbon footprint smaller. If you drive anywhere in the East of England you will see the acres of glass and no doubt get stuck behind a tractor or two. But these farmers do and amazing job, giving is the best quality products for such an extended season. I think too many people take for granted how our food reaches the supermarket shelves. I have really enjoyed learning about our farming industry and helping to tell the story to the shoppers.
