Portarit photography

I have recently updated my website to include some examples of my portrait photographs. Over the years I have photographed many people. From well know writers such as Mary Berry, Raymond Blanc, Jamie, Hairy Bikers and more.

But I have also photographed may talented but less well known people. Obviously I have come accross a lot of growers, but I have aslo documented many of artists, gardeners and just basically interesting people. When I was at art college I dedicated all my time hunting out people of interest. From retired professors who now live in a deeelict car on the wiltshire downs, to Romany travellers and their lifestyle. I followed the army excersise on the Salisbury Plain. I do miss that freedom of just taking photographs for the sheer fun of it.

I once wrote to Roald Dahl asking if I could visit and photograph him. To my suprise he replied, politely declined but did said celebrities are not nearly as interesting a subject matter as real people. How right he was.

Having said that both people shown above are well know but that is just to draw in the reader. Real people are a great source for photography.
